Crypto Performance Numbers
This web page here is for the purpose of providing crypto performance
numbers for those who are interested, but like me, don't want to go through
the hassle of actually doing the measurements.
The SSLeay (which is getting scarce) and OpenSSL
(which is still
easy to get) wads
often include sample performance
I have downloaded openssl-0.9.5, and untarred the
times directory here
that comes with the wad.
The times directory
has a collection of the output of the SSLeay speed command for
a large collection of algrithms (including DES, 3DES, RC4, RC2,
CAST, SHA, etc.),
on a large collection of processors (including
intel, sparc, alpha, mips, etc.), and
on a large collection of
operating systems (including Linux, WIndows, NT, Solaris, Linux, etc.).
I thank Eric A. Young
Open SSL for including these useful
numbers in their wads.
